ZulFarrak Part One

T

The next day I awoke sore and tired from my seemingly endless marathon of quests. Drinking some ale, I felt refreshed, ready to take on my next challenge. I overheard a few adventurers speaking about a tribe of Sandfury Trolls to the north west at a place called Zul’Farrak. Legend has it that these Trolls have been housing a mystical creature called Ghaz’rilla. It is a mighty demigod capable of mass destruction. There were a group of explorers who entered this area, never to be seen again.

I decided to join the conversation. The group told me that they wanted to form a group, to rescue the lost explorers and defeat this creature before it could cause any trouble. I offered my assistance, and we set off to see what we could do.

Zul’Farrak was just as I expected. Once a powerful civilization, this area has been reduced to rubble. It’s inhabitants now wander throughout the old pathways and structures, clinging to the mystique of the past. The trolls did not take to our presence lightly. A group of them noticed us enter and immediately attacked.

We took them out without much of a problem. Looking down the pathway, we saw dozens and dozens of Trolls. Our battle was much of the same. We’d be attacked by wave after wave of Trolls, and we’d defeat each group with little trouble, making our way around the long, sandy corridors.

We eventually made it to a large opening, surrounding an enormous temple. The steps to this temple seemed to go on forever. Wiping the blood from our weapons, we decided to have a look at the top of the temple for the lost explorers. After a seemingly endless climb, we finally made it to the top and sure enough there were the adventures, each locked in a separate cage.

After slaying the executioner, we unlocked the prisoners. They cheered and thanked us for our efforts. They then told us we must leave because the tribesmen were expecting an tribal execution ceremony. We turned to leave but it was too late.
