Welcome to the Jungle

R

Returning to Booty Bay with a mixed feeling of pride and anger, I walked around the bustling portside city and spoke with various goblins and humans around the area. Everyone seemed to have some animal to kill, or some pirates to beat up. I took all their tasks. It was refreshing to finally be out of the gloom of Darkshire.

Booty Bay

Finally, I walked down the dirt path and saw a small camp. When I approached, an old Dwarf called me over. I recognized him right away. In my travels I heard countless stories of the brave hunter, Hemet Nessingwary. Armed with his famous rifle, this had to be him. As I introduced myself, I realized I was wrong. This certainly was a Nesingwary, but only the son of the legendary hunter. Nevertheless, he invited me to share his hunting parties big game hunt.

Hemet Nessingwary

That night I set out. Taking Nesingwary’s advice I kept as quiet as possible. After a short walk, I saw a young tiger skulking in the nearby bushes. When the animal passed by me I attacked with my axe. It roared and gashed at me with it’s claws, but I managed to take down my first kill. I wondered why Nesingwary didn’t use my same tactic. An axe was much more useful than a rife.

I then got my answer. The ruckus I created broke my silence. I then found myself in the middle of a whole pack of tigers. Seemingly angered by the death of one of their own, the whole pack stampeded towards me. I was knocked back against a tree, with tigers biting at my armor and slashing my face. I shielded myself and blindly slashed at the beasts, killing them one by one.

Crocolisk

Bewildered, I walked towards a shallow stream. I sat down at the side of the river and took out my fishing pole for a little casual fishing, trying to calm down from my attack. After a few short tugs, I pulled up expecting to see a delicious fish. To my surprise an enormous Crocolisk exploded out of the water. I threw my fishing pole aside and grabbed my weapons off the ground. The Crocolisk bit at my shield and twisted around violently. As it tore the shield out of my hand I took the opportunity to smash it in the head with my axe.

Raptor WoW

This wasn’t a place to be taken lightly. Just then I turned around, and saw a group of Raptors running towards me. Bleeding and soaking wet, I took my shield out of the mouth of the dead Crocolisk and Defended myself from the ferocious beasts. At the end of all the bloodshed, I discovered that I was sitting right next to a nest. I may have defeated them for now, but I was positive that there would be more.

Panther World of Warcraft

Still recovering from my attacks, I started running back to the camp as the night set in. With the camp in site, I tripped over something and landed flat on my face. I rolled over, dazed to find a panther on top of me biting at my neck. I pushed it off using both of my feet. I then grabbed my weapons and walking backwards, took down the beast.

After a few short tugs, I pulled up expecting to see a delicious fish. To my surprise an enormous Crocolisk exploded out of the water.

Suddenly the dark, murky graveyard of Duskwood didn’t seem so bad after all. I returned to Nesingwary with a fist full of skins. He was delighted, and told me about the great leaders of each animal group. Sin’Dall the tiger, Tethis the raptor, and lastly Bhag’thera, the panther. If I could track down and kill these elusive beasts, he would tell his father of my great feat. Despite suffering endless animal attacks, the prospect of being honored by the most legendary hunter in Azeroth was just too much to turn down. I told the hunter I wouldn’t let him down. Maybe this time I’d stay on my Mechanostrider.
