Tools and Trolls

I

I acted as if I never read the note which was intended for Grelin Whitebeard. He snatched it from me and read it over quickly. Knowing what was coming I readied my sword. The dwarf wanted me to take care of the Troll situation. Just as I was about to go into the Troll Cave ahead, a dwarf with a piping hot cup called me over. He wanted me to rush it over to Durnan Farcutter, the merchant inside of anvil mill. I grabbed the mug, and ran back to Amber Mill. The cup was scolding hot! Durnan took a long swig, and threw the cup back at me to return.

On the way out I was called over by another Gnome. Felix told me a sad story about how his tools were stolen by a group of Trolls. I promised to get his tools back to him as soon as I could. These Trolls are proving to be a real nuisance.

Sure enough I saw some of Felix’s tools scattered by a small Troll compound. I cautiously closed in on the Trolls, drew my weapon, and.. nothing happened. The Trolls didn’t want to fight. In fact, they didn’t want to do much at all. I took the tools and went to the next Troll Camp. They too just walked around in circles, completely ignoring me.

When I got to the Troll cave I remembered something. Grelin Whitebeard wanted me to kill these trolls. I sharpened my knife and knew what I had to do. I entered the cave and snuck up on my unsuspecting victims.

The troll turned around and I started frantically slashing at him. Without much effort, the troll succumbed to its wounds and hit the cave floor. I found myself becoming distant from what I was doing. Before I knew it I had killed ten of them. With their blue blood still fresh on my sword I returned to Grelin Whitebeard.

He rewarded me with a new weapon, and had one final task. I had to kill the leader of the Coldridge Trolls, Grik’nir the Cold. Grelin wanted this Troll dead because Grik’nir stole his journal. I tried to explain that the Trolls didn’t mean any harm, but Grelin insisted, and yearning for more power I continued on with my quest, but first I had to return to Felix.
