Continuing on my journey up north, I eventually made it to the top of the narrow path where I saw that small camp the Magistrate informed me about. There was a group of Syndicate soldiers moving about the camp. I noticed a few of them were looking at a map. They must be planning an attack. I jumped off my Mechanostrider and ran towards the group.
Wasting no time, the black assassins sprung into action. I took down the soldiers one by one. The fight was typical for the most part. I left a trail of dead bodies behind me as I made my way towards the camp. I bent over to pick up the scroll when one last assassin came running out of the tent. He took me by surprise and knocked my axe to the ground. As I turned around to pick it up, I was jabbed in the jaw. This only enraged me more. I knocked the soldier off his feet with my shield, then picking up my axe, I threw it as the coward ran away, landing right in the small of his back.
I then took the scroll off the table. Along with a list of supplies, there were various threats against Southshore. There was also an encrypted letter on the ground. I returned to Magistrate Maleb with the foreboding news. He told me that the Syndicate is run by former Alterac nobles. I then was sent on a series of missions to decypher the letter. I soon discovered that this was written by Nagaz of the Argus Wake. This group is known to be allied with the Syndicate. I was given the task to defeat these nobles, and to destroy Nagaz. They were last seen at Dandred’s Fold, by the Ruins of Alterac.

So I set off, this time staying on that narrow path. I felt the climate change as I ascended into the hills. A cool fog surrounded me, but I stayed on course. I saw the harsh black outline of a large inn out in the distance. I decided to walk the remainder of the way to avoid detection. I hid behind a patch of rotting pumpkins. It was hard to tell them apart. Why do all these criminal cults have to wear the exact same uniforms? A female walked in front of me, and I seized the opportunity.
I stealthily took down my enemies as I approached the amber light glowing from the house in the distance. I listened at the window. Was Nagaz an Orc? He was speaking, but I did not totally understand what he was saying. I then listened carefully. I distinctly heard the Orc say “Lak’tuk gol’kosh!”. Without thinking about it I muttered “Suffering by my axe?”. I heard a rustling then Nagaz jumped through the open door with his axe held high. I defended myself as the old Orc swung and slashed at me with his enormous weapon.
He looked at me straight in the eye with the rage of a rabid bull. I dodged his axe, and it crashed through the window. As he recovered his weapon, I climbed up the mighty warrior and sank my axe into the back of his head. He fell down dead with his arm still clutching the axe. The deed was done. I took my bounty and began the long trek back to Southshore.
