The Orcs of Redridge

O

Off in the distance I saw a large encampment. There were large Tents with raging fires outside. The area was teeming with large, green apelike men. These must be the Blackrock Orcs. I took cover as I drew closer. Two Orcs were keeping watch. Peering around a tree, I got a good look at one of them. These Orcs looked exactly like the creatures from my Dream.

Suddenly they were no longer my adversaries. These Orcs had names, and a great homeland they defended. This was my first time seeing Orcs but I felt like I knew them. My lapse in focus left me vulnerable. The two Orcs ran at me, axes drawn high in the air. My senses regained I prepared for the fight. These Orcs were my enemies once again.

These were no Murlocs. Spending most of my effort defending myself, I used my small size to my advantage. I sliced at the Orcs from below, in one sweep cutting through their shins. The Orcs yelled in pain. When they hit the ground I finished the fight.

I moved through the tall grass, crouching down. The Orcs nearby saw movement in the grass but just passed it off as a small animal. Little did they know that small animal had a large sword and shield. I sprung out of the grass and beheaded the Orc before I landed back on the ground. This would be my strategy.

As I made my way through the compound, secretly taking down one after another, I eventually made it to a series of tents. Sitting here were two Orcs and something bound to a cage. I snuck in closer. They had captured a Gnome. I felt my blood begin to boil. With a loud wail I took the Orcs by surprise. Soon there were three of them surrounding me. Blinded by vengeance, I took them down one by one.

In an instant I untied the Gnome. He was beaten, and frail. I gave him some of the food I was carrying, but it was no good. In a high, strained voice the Gnome whispered “My, you’re a tall woo. ww…” then collapsed to the ground. I was too late. The Gnome died right in front of me. This was a startling reminder. These lands are deadly, and I need to keep fighting for my people.
