I spent the rest of the night completing a series of tasks around Loch Modan, learning a few new cooking recipes along the way. The following morning I felt ready to move on to a new area. I left the Stoutlager Inn and began my flight to Stormwind. From there I would head west towards Westfall.
It was raining when I walked across the bridge by Westbrook Garrison. The yellow fields glistened as puddles pooled and streamed along the dirt paths. Standing on the corner I was greeted by the Furbrows; a local farm family. They explained that a pocket watch had been stolen by a few “hooligans”. They didn’t have much to reward me with, but I was ready for action.
Heading up the farmland, I noticed that the fields were filled with mechanical scarecrow looking creatures aimlessly roaming around the parameter. Once must have noticed me walking by and attacked. The fight left some strange metal parts scattered around the ground. Were these machines under control at some point? What happened.
As I entered the tiny home, I was surprised to see that the “hooligans” were still there, rummaging through the house. There were three of them, each wearing a sort of black uniform. They didn’t seem like local ruffians just looking for a fight. Nevertheless, they didn’t put up too much of a fight. Wearing simple leather uniforms and black bandannas, they were no match. I opened a large cabinet to the left, and found the pocket watch.
I returned it to the family and graciously accepted my reward of Milk and Bread. I was then told to visit Saldean’s Farm straight up the pathway for a few more errands. As I walked up the path, I wondered what those “hooligans” were really after.
Sure enough, the second family had a few things for me to do. Turns out my suspicions were correct. As it turns out there are many more foreigners ruining these farmlands. Farmer Saldean was one of the last remaining farmers in the area. Those mechanical scarecrows, known formally as harvest watchers earlier did in fact at one point serve the local farmers, but it seems things went awry when the thieves came to town.
Accepting Farmer Saldean’s requests, I set off, killing harvest watchers, collecting oats, and collecting meat for a stew his wife was cooking. After sharing some Westfall Stew with the Saldean family, I continued moving westward towards Sentinel Hill. Maybe there I could learn some more about all these thieves and hooligans roaming around.
Night had fallen as I made it to Sentinel Hill. I found an Inn that was still under construction and took rest for the night.
