Out of the Snow

A

A few days later, I left Thunderbrew Distillery with a sense of purpose. If I was to go back to Gnomeregan to free my city, I would need to be much more powerful. Having explored every part of this area, taking down enemies and gaining the respect of the people, I found myself ready to move on. Looking far off in the distance I saw the great city of Ironforge. All at once I knew, this was where I had to go.

So I set off. I grabbed a few things from the bar and began to walk up the path to the great gates. Never before had I felt so small, as I entered the cavernous entrance to the city. I took a moment to take in my surroundings. This was surely a site to behold. There were enormous dwarven statues depicting figures of great importance. The city itself was bustling with adventurers gearing up for their next great adventure.

They were coming out of a large auction house behind me. Through my own adventures, my armor had warn out, and wasnt protecting me as well as it once had. I used the auction house, and before I knew it I was much better equipped.

As I exited the auction house, an enormous gryphon flew swiftly overhead. I followed the large bird, wondering where it was headed. I found a nest of four gryphons by a great forge. Speaking with the Gryphon Master, I was told that gryphons pick up and drop off travelers from far away lands. I asked to climb aboard one, but had no idea where to go. The Gryphon Master instructed me to go to the Deep Run Tram for my first trip.

He explained the Deep Run Tram goes straight through the Eastern Kingdom, to a place called Stormwind. There, he assured me I’d find plenty of things to do.

I entered the empty, run down depot, and was greeted by a Gnome who evidently had spent a bit too much time down there. He asked me to use his flute to try and catch some rats. Blowing the flute would hypnotize the rats around the area, forcing them to follow me into his traps.

There were no trams available, so I took his task as menial as it was. Looking around the depot I saw a few rats. I blew my whistle, and sure enough they followed me. After a little searching around, I had five rats following suit. I lured them to their traps and was given some rotten looking food as a reward.

As I sat to wait for a tram, I hid them under my seat. and took a seat to wait for the trams to arrive. After a fairly short wait, the strangely empty trams arrived. I hopped on board. With a huge jerk, the tram lifted off. I hung on to the rails for dear life as I was whisked through various tunnels winding through earth and water.

Feeling my grip begin to loosen, the tram jammed to a stop and I exited the cart, feeling lucky to have survived. I left the depot, and looked around at the city. I made it to Stormwind.

This vast kingdom was filled with relics of wars past. I could sense a great, glorious history as I walked through the town. As I walked through the cobblestone pathways, adventurers rode through the city on exotic looking animals, with their armor glowing in the dusk light.
