More Pirates

I

I took a Gryphon back to the docks of Menethil Harbor and was greeted by a few familiar faces. I spoke of my adventures since doing deeds for these villiagers and they were interested in hearing my tale. Evidently none of them had travelled far past the gates of Ironforge.

I walked towards the docks and climbed aboard a ship. After a relatively short ride I was back on Kalimdor. To get to Gadgetzan I would have to walk through an area known as Dustwallow Marsh, then through the Barrens, Thousand Needles, and finally the Shimmering Flats. I saw many new sights as I my mechanostrider clanked through the land. After a long trek, I spotted a mechanical fixture protruding out of a sandy fortress. This had to be Gadgetzan.

My eyes stung as I walked through the sandstorm into the area. This small trading outpost was home to a few rugged Goblin Engineers and other thugs and questionable folk. I walked around and gathered some tasks from the Goblins in the area. One mentioned that there was a tiny port at the eastern coast that was in serious need of assistance.

I set off into the sandstorm, using my cloak to shield my face as I rode. This was an unforgiving environment. How could anyone survive a moment out in this harsh land? Water glistened in the distance as I made it to Steamwheedle Port. Outside the buildings, I saw a wanted poster with the description of a named Andre Firebeard. As I was reading the sign a large Tauren walked up to me. I was startled and swung around, axe in hand.

The Tauren jumped back and raised his hands in fear. The battle of Arathi Basin left me with a bit of a prejudice towards these creatures. Lowering his hands, he told me of a pirate camp down the coast. He warned me that if I was to get Firebeard, I’d have to fight through many of his cohorts. “Firebeard is the toughest pirate out there!”, he said nervously. I let out a long, drawn out sigh. “Great, more pirates..” I thought to my self as I nodded in acknowledgement.

I let out a long, drawn out sigh. “Great, more pirates.. I thought to my self as I nodded”

Putting my disappointment aside, I set off towards the pirate camp. My intent was to do this quest as quickly and efficiently as possible. As I was strategizing my attack, I heard a murmur, as if someone was complaining. I stopped dead in my tracks. I was puzzled because the only beings around me were some large turtles. The sound appeared to be coming from a green tortoise to my left. I decided that I’d just been in the heat a bit too long. Those creatures can’t talk.

I soon arrived at the Pirate cove. Firebeard was last seen in the center of a large encampment surrounded by small tents. I travelled to another continent, yet these pirates seemed to be no different from the ones outside of Booty Bay. There were just as drunk, and just a s uncoordinated. I moved twoward the fort, killing wave after wave of pirates in my wake.

Then I saw Firebeard. He was sitting with a group of others most likely discussing their next attack. I wiped the blood from my shield and charged toward the group, having no regard to the sheer number of opponents I’d face.
Before I knew it I was surrounded by six surly foes. Having underestimated my fight, I had to come up with something quick. I knocked over a few pirates and focused my attack on Firebeard himself. As the pirates rose to their feet, they shreeked in rage as they saw their leader fall to my axe. My task was completed, and I wasn’t about to stick around to celebrate.

I turned around and ran towards my mechanostrider. A group of angry pirates followed suit, shooting and yelling at me as I ran for my life. At the exit of a small cave, I saw my mechanostrider waiting idly where I left it. I jumped on board and turned around just as the group closed in.

The merchants at Steemweedle Port were surprised to see me back so soon. I sensed that he doubted my accomplishment. I then took out the severed head of Andre Firebeard out of my bag and showed it to him as undeniable proof. Feeling satisfied, I took my bounty, and continued on my mission through the desert.
