Into the Deadmines

T

The time had come. There were five of us: A Dwarf Hunter, Night Elf Druid, Dranaei Shaman, and Human Rogue. Each of us had a different specialty, but we were all there to serve the same purpose. We had to get through these mines to find the leader of the Defias Brotherhood, Edwin VanCleef.

The old, run down mines were filled with a new energy; sinister and heavy. Our presence was met with extreme opposition. Together we fought incredibly powerful Defias Overseers as the slaves blindly attacked at their sides. This was tougher than anything we’d gone through yet, but we stuck together and pushed through.

Orgue World of Warcraft

In a clearing we saw an enormous Orgue called Rhahk’Zor. This large, beastly Foreman threw down his heavy mallet. We waited for him to strike, then as he lifted his mallet off the floor, we seized the opportunity and took him down. His henchmen hid quietly in the shadows, then after seeing their master hit the ground they attacked, but were no obstacle.

Moving forward, we started to make our way down the forge area where we faced some new opponents. Gryan Stoutmantle was right. The Goblins had been assisting the Defias. The craftsmen sent out their drones ans the others shot at us from a distance. I charged toward the snipers while the Dwaft sent his pet after the machines.

Lighting an old cannon, we shot our way through to the docks. There we discovered the Defias Brotherhood was in the process of building a ship. What they were planning on doing with that ship was beyond our understanding. As we moved through the docks, the Defias fought us with everything they had, including their faithful parrots.

When we made it to the ship, I noticed a large chest. Curious as always, I approached the chest and tried to peer inside. All at once a huge creature resembling a bull came charging out along with two rogues hidden by the ramp. As we fought, this bull became more and more angry, despretly seaching through his chest for bigger weapons to hit us with. With one last swipe, the bull gave up and collapsed with a large crash.

WoW Cookie Murloc

The ship was filled with Defias henchmen. Our fighting had caused a great uproar, but we pressed on, leaving a trail of blood and weapons behind us. Then, we made it to the cook. Somehow the Defias had trained a Murloc to cook for them. It swung at us with a large rolling pin, mindlessly flailing everywhere. It was swinging so frantically it knocked my sword straight out of my hand and into the water.

I raised my shield and knocked back, pushing the murloc over the side of the ship. Without any sword, I had to compromise. I took the rolling pin and used it as my weapon. If a murloc could do some serious damage with it, I surely could.

Finally we made it to our goal. Edwin VanCleef was waiting at the very top of the ship. A group of Defias Guardsmen rushed out at once, and as we fought VanCleef slowly walked out of the darkness. The shaman put down a series of totems, warding off VanCleef’s guardsmen so we could focus our efforts on their master. He was a strong fighter, killing the Dwarf with a single blow and destroying my rolling pin in his final effort to survive. Despite our loss we finally conquered VanCleef.

Our task had been completed, but not without casualties. Carrying the head of VanCleef as an ultimate token of our conquest, we returned to Gryan Stoutmantle.

The sun was setting as we went our separate ways. We fought hard together, but with our mission completed, I knew I would never see my comrades again. I would now fly a Gryphon to the Redridge Mountains to continue helping the people of Stormwind.
