As I walked, it began to snow. I tried to stay on the path to ensure I wouldn’t get too lost. After a long, tiring trek, I saw a faint object in the distance. Thinking I had finally made it to Brewnall Village, I walked straight ahead. To my surprise as I reached the object I quickly discovered that it was just a log. Taking out my map I saw that I was a little off track. I adjusted my path and began walking again.
Before I got moving I felt a sharp jab to the back. A large snow leopard had been stalking me and caught me at my weakest moment. Reacting as quickly as I could I started to fight the animal. In my unprepared state I was no match for the beast and began to think of an escape.
Just then I caught a glint of light from over my shoulder. A gnome came rushing to my aide and took the snow leopard off my back. I gathered my weapons, then she and I finished it off.
The gnome then introduced herself, and explained that she was on a hunting quest given to her by a dwarf from Brewnal Village. I decided to join her hunt. In return she would show me to my destination. Despite being at the same level of experience as I, she was obviously much more well versed in getting the most out of the land. As we fought she gave me tips on fighting, and even gave me some sharpened slate to improve my sword temporarily.
I appreciated her advice and took a few mental notes. There were a number of things I wanted to pursue when I could get back to Kharanos. In addition to my skinning I could learn how to fish, make bandages, and even create my own armor.
Before I knew it, we had completed our hunt. She lead me to Brewnall Village. I completed my original task, then was given a few new ones. In addition to infiltrating a Troll Cave, I had to steal some plants called “Shimmerweed” in a second Troll encampment to the west.
